On behalf of ABLE Centre, we would like to lobby your support for the Early Intervention Centre for Children on the Autism Spectrum. Your potential support will open a new world of opportunities for the special young minds affected by this lifelong neurological disorder. Your consideration will enable us to provide them with much needed therapy - this intervention will hopefully develop their delayed skills, at the Centre and also in their home environment, which will ultimately put them on the path to independence. Early treatment has a great success rate, and recovery is possible for a full and functional life.
As you can imagine, there are many expenses involved in managing a high-caliber Centre like this – we are proud of the successful outcomes that we achieve! Your contribution can provide for a safe learning environment, and much needed services in our community. As a registered NPC and Public Benefit Organisation, we can provide you with a Section 18 A of the Income Tax Act of 1962 Donation Certificate, which will enable you to claim your donation as a tax deduction from SARS.
We employ a staff component of dedicated and trained tutors, as well as qualified remedial teachers.

The annual enrolled number of children varies, as the increases in cost and economic situation puts a huge burden on the pockets of parents trying to afford quality intervention treatment. 80% of the children at the Centre only attend between 2 and 3 days, whereas they require at least a full week’s intervention for successful turn-around of the condition. Donations are at a minimum at the moment; therefore, we cannot even offer sponsorship to kiddies and their parents who need it most. The published 2017 autism rate is 1 out of 54 children, and 4 times more prevalent in boys. Although the Centre had only opened its doors in September 2012, we are already at capacity and close to a waiting list – these facts speak for the demand for specialized services for children on the autism Spectrum.
Your contribution may be an investment in the future generation. Without the support of people like you, we would not be able to reach our goal, of helping one child at a time to reach their full potential and to ultimately be able to give back to the Zululand community which has shown them such generous support.
We would like to also invite you to visit the Centre at any time as a “guest of honour” to meet some of the remarkable young people attending the treatment Centre. Inspiration is guaranteed.
